Who will be the Gujarati Juliet? Not Bebo for sure!
Sources say that instead of being deterred by leading lady Kareena Kapoor's walkout, Sanjay Leela Bhansali continues with his big plans for his epic love story 'Ram Leela'

Kareena Kapoor may have marched out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming romance film, but the filmmaker is yet not ready to hang his head in disappointment.

In fact, according to sources, he has bigger plans in place, the first step of which is to take lead actor Ranveer Singh on a trip to Gujarat to prep him for his role. Our source from the film says, “Bhansali is planning to take Ranveer to Gujarat in order to make him familiar with the place, where the film is set, apart from introducing him to the crewmembers.”

With Bebo exiting the project, buzz is that Bhansali could be looking for a fresh face. And in case, the filmmaker decides to go with a tried and tested actress to cast as his Gujarati heroine, here’s looking at the timetables of some of our Bollywood actresses who could suit the part. But it looks like all of them have a rather choc-o-bloc schedule to start shooting next month.

Deepika Padukone: Dippy has the sequel of Race in her kitty. She is currently shooting for her film opposite Ranbir Kapoor. And then she will start working on Chennai Express.

Anushka Sharma: Right now, she is shooting for her Yash Chopra project, post which she will do Raju Hirani’s next.

Sonam Kapoor: Sonam is currently working on Rakeysh Mehra’s next and will start work on Ranjhana.

Katrina Kaif: The actress is shooting for Yash Chopra’s film opposite SRK. And then there is Dhoom 3 opposite Aamir Khan, apart from promotional activities around her spy thriller opposite Salman Khan.
Vidya Balan: Vids has Ghanchakkar and Shaadi Ke Side Effects.

Priyanka Chopra: PC could be Bhansali’s only hope among A-list actresses. She has no other film apart from the remake of Zanjeer.

Jumping the gun?

Sources close to PC recently claimed that she had been approached to play the female lead in this Bhansali project. However, informers inside Bhansali’s camp indicate that PC’s ‘friends’ may have made the announcement a tad too early. Especially, since a new face could also be considered.

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

The content of Viday Balan starrer "The Dirty Picture" has been revised to ensure it is suitable to be broadcast on television channels.

"A revised U/A has been submitted to the channel, " Tanuj Garg, CEO Balaji Motion Pictures, told.

The voluntary deletion carried out by the filmmakers are in addition to the 59 cuts that had been made earlier in the film when it was given U/A rating by the Censor Board.

"The Dity Picture", unofficial biopic on late southern actress Silk Smitha, was to be premiered on Sony TV on April 22.

However, the screening was banned by the Information and Broadcasting ministry saying that the Censor Board felt that even the UA certificate given to the movie after several cuts meant that parental guidance was a must.

We tried to get in touch with Censor Board spokeperson, but he was not available for comment.

Reema thanks Vidya for making curves trendy

Reema thanks Vidya for making curves trendy
Southern actress Reema Sen is "amazed" at viewers response to her role of sensuous Durga, Manoj Bajpayee's second wife in "Gangs of Wasseypur", and thanks Vidya Balan for making curves trendy.

"I never thought that people will be so ga ga over the character. People have found a cotton sari and a quarter second back shot so sexy - I am amazed," Reema told.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, crime thriller "Gangs of Wasseypur" has strong women characters portrayed by Reeam, Richa Chaddha and Huma Qureshi.

"Anurag had told me that people were going to go crazy over my character but I never expected this," added the actress attributing her success to Vidya.

"Had it not come after 'The Dirty Picture', people would have said I looked fat. She (Vidya) has made voluptuous look sexy and I really need to thank her," she said.

Describing size zero concept as an "obnoxious trend", she doesn't think skinny bodies make one look sexy.

"Everyone is so crazy over the size zero concept. I don't think fat is sexy but being skinny is not that great either. It's like their bodies are all the same and without seeing the face you don't know who it is. This is an obnoxious trend where people are anorexic and they try to look sexy, she said.
After doing a few Hindi films, Reema is very particular about the roles which she does in Bollywood.

"As long as I don't get something nice, I am not ready to do it. After 'Malamaal Weekly' also it took me sometime to sign my next film. Since I have the luxury of doing southern films, I don't feel I am sitting at home doing nothing," she said.

She feels for good roles she is dependent upon a director's vision.

"I always feel that an actor is very helpless when it comes to roles. You are totally dependent on the director. Anurag came up with something so different. Nobody has seen me like this before. I need a good director to come and give me a good role, I cannot create roles for myself," she said.

The actress says she is a "commercial person" and that after 'Gangs..' "people called me up and offered me women-centric films but I refused".

"At the end of the day, it is entertainment which is the most important factor. If you can entertain and tell a story or pass on a message, then it is great."

Neetu feels Vidya should share credit with Ekta and Milan

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

Usually, people don't get tired of praising Vidya Balan and her acting abilities

But when CS asked Neetu Chandra to comment on one of her latest films, she decided not to heap praises on the actress alone. Instead, she included the filmmakers as well.

“Of course, Vidya did a fabulous job and she deserves all the credit. But at the same time, we’ve got to remember that people like Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria. They were the ones who took the risk of going ahead with a story which had a strong female protagonist. So hats off to them, too.”

Hollywood-Bollywood come together for vegan cookbook

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

A host of Bollywood celebrities like Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Neha Dhupia, as well as Hollywood biggies are set to share their favourite vegan recipes for a book titled "The Bolly Holly Vegan Cookbook".

Poorva Joshipura, head of animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India and vice president (International Operations), PETA Foundation UK, is working on the project.

"It will be perfect for everyone - veteran vegans, curious newcomers and those who just want to try the occasional meatless meal - as well as both kitchen novices and culinary wizards, " Joshipura, a food enthusiast herself, told.

"The recipes will allow readers to enjoy vegan versions of old-time Indian regional favourites and to explore dishes that they might never have heard of before. The book will reveal how easy it is to turn traditionally meat or dairy-laden Indian dishes - and those from faraway lands - into more enjoyable and far healthier vegan delicacies, " she added.

Other Indian actors who will provide their inputs for the book include names like Sonu Sood, Raveena Tandon, Amrita Rao, Celina Jaitly and Jacqueline Fernandez.

The book will also contain writing from Ingrid Newkirk, founder of PETA US, as well as by nutrition expert and author Neal Barnard, also the founder of Washington-based The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM).

"The Bolly Holly Vegan Cookbook" is expected to hit the stands in 2013.

PETA India's US affiliate counts Hollywood stars like Pamela Anderson, Alicia Silverstone, Sir Paul McCartney, Bryan Adams, Stella McCartney and Eva Mendes as their supporters.

Joshipura has signed with Jacaranda Press to represent the book and she feels it would help readers to understand how a vegan diet helps celebrities to be in perfect shape.

"Learning what celebrities eat can reveal the secrets behind their shiny hair, slim figures, toned bodies and smooth, healthy skin. Every chapter of the book will offer celebrity tips, quotations and facts about the benefits of vegan eating.

"Best of all, it will be fun - full of colourful pictures of celebrities' favourite dishes, with cinematic terms used throughout the text of the book to liven up the pages, " added Joshipura.

Vidya Balan's foody confessions

Vidya Balan`s foody confessions
Vidya Balan and her curves have spiced up the 70 mm screen every now and then. And the damsel has no qualms in admitting that she is a foodie and loves binging on Indian food

The Ooh la la girl talks to CS about healthy food, her mother’s kitchen and the best of South Indian food in town:

India aha!
I have always liked Indian food. It is tasty as well as healthy. Generally, everyone has this misconception that anything made with healthier ingredients cannot be tasty. But it is so not true.

Also if you eat right things in the right quantity on the right time, it won’t harm at all. Anything home-cooked can never harm in any way. I’m all for the Indian woman’s curvaceous body and I’m happy the way I am. I don’t think I’ll ever consciously try and change my body unless I need to for a film.

Mom’s kitchen
I love home-cooked food and if my mother’s made it, it’s heaven. My sister always pulls a joke on me saying that if mom were to serve me salt less food I’d still relish it without complaining.

I guess, it’s the love that makes all the difference and adds on as the secret ingredient. I am not particularly fond of rice. I like avial, morkootaan, pachadi, etc. And if it is made by my mom then nothing like it. Also I really enjoy Thai cuisine. It is easily available, tasty, and healthy.

Snack time

In this season, chai time with hot crispy snacks is an indulgence. Stuff like kanda bhajiya, wada pav, kerala banana chips, etc. But all of the above are rare indulgences as I have to keep a check on the extra kgs I put on. Anything hot and spicy with a hot cup of tea is an instant mood lifter for me.

Of idlis and dosas
My mother is the best cook. In fact, sometimes my friends come over for a typical South Indian meal. Sunday lunches at home are best. Mom makes it a point to make traditional dishes like the molagootal.

There are many South Indian joints in the city that have retained their original charm. I often order food home from a Manis or Sunders, or then Hanuman Café. While few restaurants may have altered the food, most of them have tried to retain its originality.

The meal isn’t only complete and wholesome but also very affordable. The best part about the South Indian cuisine is that it’s untouched by commercialisation.
