According to a close source, Rajesh Khanna is recovering fast and will be back home in a couple of days

Ailing superstar Rajesh Khanna still needs some looking after. He will now be under 24-hour supervision of his family at his bungalow, Ashirwad.

Says a source close to the family, “Kakaji’s health has declined drastically because of his negligence towards his food and diet. He didn’t exercise at all. He was a sitting duck for ill health. After this scare, doctors have advised that he change his lifestyle. They have also asked his family to be around him.”

Luckily for the 69 year-old, his family, including his son-in-law Akshay Kumar, has rallied around him.

According to sources, Kaka’s former wife Dimple Kapadia is seriously considering moving back into Ashirwad to look after her husband. Incidentally, she never divorced him.

“The bond between Kakaji and Dimpleji is, to this day, very strong. She knows how to cope with a health crisis, having taken care of her sister Simple during her illness.”

The curtain has not fallen on Rajesh Khanna’s acting career either. R Balki, who recently did a much talked-about ad for a ceiling fan with him, has another ad lined up for the superstar.

Balki says, “Mr Khanna displayed great spirit when we shot the ad recently. Some people thought he was looking ill but that was because he had sprained his leg. He was on painkillers and therefore maybe a little woozy. Otherwise, he never allowed us to feel, even for a minute, that he was unwell. I want him for another ad as soon as he recovers.”

Yesteryears' superstar Rajesh Khanna, who is being treated at Lilawati Hospital for almost two weeks, might be discharged over the weekend, according to a source close to the actor.

"Rajesh-ji is stable now, his blood reports came today and are normal. He might get discharged by Saturday or Sunday," the source told.

The 69-year-old, fondly called "Kaka" by his fans, was admitted to the hospital June 23 and has been undergoing treatment since then. His estranged wife, actress Dimple Kapadia, has been by his side ever since.

The actor has been battling health issues for quite some time. In April, he was admitted to the hospital after he complained of weakness, but was discharged in three to four days.
