Aamir Khan has started shooting for "Dhoom 3" and says that he is keeping his looks simple for his anti-hero role in the actioner.

It has been reported that the actor was not happy with his hair style in the movie. But now he seems satisfied.

"I have started shooting for 'Dhoom 3' and this is my hair style for the film. It is not very different, " Aamir, who was sporting short cropped hair, told reporters Wednesday at a press conference at the Yash Raj Studios, where he is shooting the film.

Dressed in a grey track pants, pink T-shirt and Kolhapuri chappals, the actor was looking his causual best. He was also seen wearing studs in his ears.

"Dhoom 3" will also see Katrina Kaif along with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra who will be seen reprising roles of Jai Dixit and Ali.

The film is being produced by Aditya Chopra and written by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who had scripted earlier films as well.

"Dhoom 3" is likely to hit screens next year.

The action comedy has the track Bhaag D K Bose from Aamir’s production Delhi Belly. The makers were keen to include the song as they felt it was perfect for a musical sequence filmed on Abhishek.

Says a source, “They were told that Aamir holds the rights for the song. When the star was approached, he gave his consent immediately. But when the talk veered towards monetary compensation, he refused to be compensated for it.”

Adds the source, “The copyright of the songs are usually held by music companies from which permission is taken before they are used. Otherwise there is a copyright infringement issue. For every song utilised, a royalty has to be given to them. But in Aamir’s case as the rights are with him, the royalty goes to him.”

Rohit and Ajay were happy that Aamir willingly gave the right to use the song and refused to accept any royalty for it. The film’s spokesperson confirmed that Aamir did not charge anything and the makers are thankful to him.

Impressed by Aamir Khan's advocacy of generic drugs, Bihar has sought the Bollywood star's help to create awareness and popularise the medicines among the people in the state, a minister said Sunday.

"I have requested Aamir Khan to lead a campaign to help the Bihar government create awareness about generic drugs and popularise it, " said Ashwani Kumar Choubey, the state's Health Minister.

Choubey said the government would make official announcement about the campaign after receiving a confirmation from Aamir.

"We hope that sensitive actor Aamir Khan will accept our request to lead a campaign for popularising generic drugs in Bihar, " Choubey said.

He feels Aamir's association would help the government to reach common people and educate them about the importance and utility of cost-effective generic drugs.

The state government had decided to provide generic medicines in all the government hospitals and health centres, but the policy was yet to be implemented, said Chaubey.

He said, last year, the government ordered the supply of only a generic medicine to health centres for free distribution among patients.

Latest reports suggest that village leaders of the Khap Panchayats in Haryana, have dropped the idea of inviting superstar Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao for the Mahapanchayat being held at Bibipur village on July 14, to discuss the raging issue of female feticide.

Apparently, the decision was taken as some local panchayat leaders objected to the portrayal of the issue of honour killings and their connection to Khap Panchayats in an episode of Aamir’s show Satyamev Jayate on Star Plus.

Reacting to the development, Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar said, “It’s unfortunate that Aamir Khan will not be there. His star presence and persona could have made a real difference in the discussion over widening of sex ratio in Haryana.”

“It could have put the Mahapanchayat meeting on a national platform, garnering huge media attention; which a noble cause like this deserves,” the publicist added.

In an interview with 92.7 BIG FM, Aamir confessed to being "homesick" while away on shoots and specially during the first week. He will be in the US for three months and will be accompanied by better half Kiran Rao and son Azad all through the schedule.

Aamir Khan's television show "Satyamev Jayate" has struck the right chord with the viewers and the film star says that he may come up with the second season of the show.

"Right now I have to shoot 'Dhoom 3' and Rajkumar Hirani's film 'PK'. After completing them, I will come back and take a stock of the situation and then I will decide about the second season of the show, " Aamir has been quoted as saying.

The actor was speaking at a radio channel 92.7 Big FM.

The 13-part first season has crossed the halfway mark and it has received a spectacular response.

"We have received a dream response... but it has been very difficult for us to review our work. So many things have happened that has made it difficult for our research team to go back to the fields and actually find out the actual impact we have created, " he said while interacting with listeners about his show at the radio station.

For the first season, Aamir and his team took two years to do the research work and identify issues affecting common people.

As a starting point for the second season, the team is likely to go back to the roots, assess the impact created by season one, look at other issues that need to be addressed and come back to the drawing board post September to plan a possible season two.

The first season has already dealt with a host of hard-hitting topics like child sex abuse, female foeticide, faulty health care system and domestic violence.

Actor Aamir Khan feels that the institution of marriage in India has changed manifold and urges parents to ensure that their children are well-equipped to take decisions about their life partner independently.

"There is constant change in society and the concept of marriage has changed for the better; marriage is now looked upon as companionship, " Aamir said.

"Although this concept is good, we should empower our kids with right tools to be able to make their own decisions and think on a broader level.

"Marriage should not bring along fear with it. We should provide ample support to our kids and teach them to live happily, " he added.

Aamir was at the 92.7 Big FM studio here to chat with listeners and talk about his show "Satyamev Jayate".

The 44-year-old, who made his television debut with "Satyamev Jayate", feels the show has brought him closer to the people of the country and says every citizen should work to make the country a better place to live.

"The effect 'Satyamev Jayate' has taken all over the country proves the fact that we are addressing genuine issues that are prevalent in India. I have on a personal level come closer through this initiative to our country.

"For any country to be happy, we need to join hands to work towards the common goal... We should all work together for the betterment of the country, " he said.

He also talked about the response that his show has received till now and says a change has already been brought in the society.

"We have crossed the halfway mark and have received positive response throughout the country. The healthcare episode has helped improve generic medicines, the health minister is also supporting us and so is the government, " he said.

Sharing an incident about the bias against the girl child, he said that "at a Delhi wedding, a family member said a guest blessed the bride that she will give birth to boys at which point the other members present stated that a girl child is equally welcome and such gender bias should not exist.

I was reading in the newspaper that the people are now going to the police, child helpline - so change is evident (against the bias) and I really believe in India and our people."

The success of "Satyamev Jayate" has proved naysayers wrong.

"People told me that a show on social issues would be a failure, but now people from (Jamme and) Kashmir to Kanyakumari are associated with the show and want to see change in our society. We should use this opportunity to plan and contribute the most. The required change should be brought about inside, " Aamir said.

Bollyood's Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan is all praise for new film "Malegaon Ka Superman" and is even suggesting his fans to go and watch it.

"Saw 'Malegaon Ka Superman' some time back. What a fantastic film! Really loved it! I believe it has released today. Go for it!!!" Aamir wrote Saturday.

Directed by Nasir Sheikh, "Malegaon Ka Superman" is a low budget film about the ill-effects of chewing tobacco.

Not letting the rains affect his work, Aamir Khan jogs to his shoot

The monsoon has finally arrived and the first downpour yesterday bought the city to a halt. The traffic snarls and the waterlogging caused a lot of inconvenience to Mumbaikars. Among those affected was Aamir Khan.

The actor was spotted in a massive traffic jam at Bandra. He had left his home at Pali Hill around 10 am and was on way to Yash Raj Studios, Andheri, yesterday for a shoot. The rasta roko on the Mahim-Bandra stretch had further added to the mess.

Says an eyewitness, “At around 10.45 am, after being stuck in a traffic snarl for long, Aamir got off from the car and began walkng. He was wearing a blue cap and purple T-shirt with shorts.

There were two bodyguards tailing him with an umbrella saving him from getting wet. Pedestrians and the motorists were surprised to see Aamir wading through the water.”

Adds the eyewitness, “When the traffic would move, he would get into his car but when things were at a standstill, he would start jogging till the car caught up with him.” Knowing that he is preparing for a role in an upcoming action flick, he may have just ran all the way!
