It is easy to fall in love with Katrina: Salman Khan

Posted by Unknown Jumat, 13 Juli 2012 0 komentar
"While Katrina is hardworking, I am talented," Salman engaged in a friendly banter with the media at the song launch of 'Ek Tha Tiger'

There was the usual barrage of questions about Sallu’s marriage plans to which the star asked themediapersons how they would benefit from his wedding.

Actor, who reportedly once dated Katrina Kaif, says it is easy to fall in love with her.

“I think one can easily fall in love with her (Katrina) defintely…on screen and off screen. Even fans love her a lot,” Salman told reporters here at a promotional event of his upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger.

“Even when she does a song in a film like Bodyguard and Agneepath people love her so much and the movie becomes a hit. Everyone worked hard for the two films including Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Karan Malhotra, director…but it was Katrina who people liked a lot,” he said.

On his earlier statement in an interview that real life couple cannot have great chemistry on screen, Salman says, “I still maintain that.”

Salman and Katrina will be seen together in Kabir Khan’s romantic-thriller Ek Tha Tiger, which releases on August 15.
"Ek Tha Tiger" is an action thriller, the actor clarifies that there no illogical scenes in it.

"There are a lot of action scenes in the film and I have worked hard for it. It is visually very nice and choreographed very nicely. There is no illogical action," Salman said at the launch of the first song "Mashallah".

Salman will be seen as a spy in the Kabir Khan directed "Ek Tha Tiger", which has been shot in places like Dublin and Istanbul.

The actor feels that Kabir is fond of cold places. "He (Kabir) likes to go to all the cold places to shoot. There was no place above zero degrees."

Katrina: Let Salman himself decide at what age he wants to get married

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

There is continued interest in the Hindi film world on when Salman Khan would get married but the Bollywood star is in no hurry and can't understand why everyone is so curious about this

Reacting to fellow actor Aamir Khan's comment that it is high time Salman should enter wedlock, the 46-year-old said: "Aamir has been after me for this for a while now. I don't understand why everyone is after me to get married?" He was speaking at a promotional event of his upcoming action thriller "Ek Tha Tiger".

In the Yash Raj Films (YRF) project, directed by Kabir Khan, Salman will be seen with former girlfriend Katrina Kaif. Even in the film's trailer, Katrina has a line telling Salman's character that he has reached an age where he should get married.

Asked about her thoughts on Salman's marriage, Katrina said: "I think nobody else except Salman should decide at what age he wants to get married."

Kabir clarfied that the dialogue was not inserted into the film deliberately, but he couldn't resist the temptation of adding it. "Since I have Katrina and Salman in the movie, I couldn't resist having this," he said.

Salman Khan has no plans to visit Pakistan

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

There are no plans to visit Pakistan as of now, says the "Ek Tha Tiger" team on reports that the film's lead actor Salman Khan may visit the neighbouring country, which has banned the promos of the movie.

Denying the reports, Salman said: "I also read it in the papers that I am going (to Pakistan). If we need to go, then we will go for sure."

Director Kabir Khan said: "There were no plans to go to Pakistan but if we get an opportunity, we will love to go, but as of now there is nothing."

They were speaking at the unveiling of "Ek Tha Tiger" first song - "Mashallah".

Kabir also clarified that the promos have not been banned, but have been stopped till a no objection certificate (NOC) is issued by the Pakistan censor board.

The director is confident of getting the NOC from Pakistani censor board.

"It's not like promos are banned. They have just said that till the time there is no NOC, the trailers should not be played. We are very confident that it will get an NOC as it has nothing derogatory towards Pakistan," he said.

The film is coming out on Independence Day.

Tribute to Dara Singh, with a minute's silence

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan along with other actors and media persons kept a minute of silence to pay tribute to Dara Singh, who died Thursday after a brief illness.

Before beginning the launch of the first song of his movie "Ek Tha Tiger" at the Gaity Galaxy here, Salman requested everyone to maintain a minute's silence in the memory of the late legend.

"He (Dara Singh) was the most amazing person to work with. I know his children really well. As a person, he was the most incredible. It is a huge loss to us and god bless his soul," Salman said.

The film's director Kabir Khan and Salman's co-star Katrina Kaif were also present.

Dara Singh was admitted to a hospital here Saturday after a heart attack. On Wednesday, he was shifted to his home from hospital. He passed away at his residence in Juhu in the morning.

`Listen to Katrina and Get Married`, Aamir tells Salman
Aamir Khan, who loved the promos of Salman Khan starrer "Ek Tha Tiger", is looking forward to seeing the film and says that it will be successful at the box office.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, the romantic thriller will see Salman pairing up with Katrina Kaif. Directed by "Kabul Experess" fame Kabir Khan, the film is set for Aug 15 release.

"I haven't seen the film. But I liked the promos a lot and I think this will be a super hit. I texted Salman, Kabir saab and Adi (Aditya Chopra) that I liked the promos," Aamir told reporters here.

"Ek Tha Tiger" promos have been banned in Pakistan following allegations that the film portrays the neighbouring country's intelligence agency in a bad light.

When asked about this, Aamir said: "I will see it for sure. But I don't know why they are not showing it there."
Talking about a particular scene in the film where Katrina is telling Salman it's high time he should get married, Aamir says he hopes his fellow actor pays attention to the suggestion in real life.

He said: "We have been telling him to get married since a long time now. He didn't listen to us. Maybe he will listen to Katrina."

Salman Khan to visit Pakistan

Posted by Unknown Rabu, 11 Juli 2012 0 komentar

The actor along with director Kabir Khan plans a trip to the neigbouring nation where the promo of their upcoming film has been banned. Following the ban on the Ek Tha Tiger promo in Pakistan, lead actor Salman Khan is ready to visit the country. The actor will be accompanied by director Kabir Khan.

According to a letter issued by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority to all satellite TV channels and cable networks last week, Ek Tha Tiger, set for world release on August 15, is "reportedly based on the activities of ISI and RAW". And the film, they presume, is aimed at tarnishing the image of the country's intelligence agency.

When asked about it, Kabir told TOI, "It's disturbing for Ek Tha Tiger to be perceived as an anti-Pakistan film. But it isn't surprising. Look at the cheap jingoistic anti-Pakistan films that have released over the years. We can't really blame them if they perceive Ek Tha Tiger as one such film."

About Salman and his trip to the country, Kabir added, "Neither Salman nor I have ever visited Pakistan. So why not? We are willing to do anything that's required to make Pakistanis believe that our project is not against them. I don't think the trailer being banned is a big deal. Once the film releases, the truth will be out."

Ek Tha Tiger is NOT anti Pakistan

`Ek Tha Tiger is NOT anti Pakistan`
Director Kabir Khan is upset after "Ek Tha Tiger" promos were banned in Pakistan following allegations that it portrays the neighbouring country's intelligence agency in a bad light. But he says this is a misconception and that his film is neither insensitive nor derogatory.

"I will say it once more... Ek Tha Tiger is NOT anti Pakistan....In this day and age, it's stupid to make films that are insensitive or derogatory to any country or community," Kabir tweeted.

The director, who earlier made "Kabul Express" on post-Taliban Afghanistan and won critical acclaim for it, says that jingoistic films lead to such situations.

"This is the price we have to pay because unfortunately our industry has made insensitive and jingoistic films in the past," he wrote.

According to reports, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), the country`s media regulatory watchdog, has directed cable operators and satellite TV channels to refrain from airing promos/reviews of the movie till it is issued a no-objection certificate by the Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan.

PEMRA alleges that the film shows the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI in a bad light.

Produced by Yash Raj Films, "Ek Tha Tiger" features Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif and is coming out Aug 15.

Kabir Khan is confident that the film will be released in Pakistan.

"I am absolutely sure that once the censor board of Pakistan sees 'Ek Tha Tiger', they will be more than happy to show the film in Pakistan," he posted.

"I can assure the millions of fans of Salman in Pakistan that 'Ek Tha Tiger' will release in theatres in their country," he added.

Salman Khan wants Priyanka to be lot more attractive

Salman Khan wants Priyanka to be lot more attractive
Salman is no longer just the spin-doctor on his own projects. Known to be a very active and dominant force behind his own projects Salman has now taken charge of Ramcharan Teja’s Bollywood debut.

Recently Salman had a meeting at his residence with Ramcharan Teja and the Zanjeer director Apoorva Lakhia where he suggested some radical changes in the Zanjeer remake, including the way Priyanka Chopra’s character was to be packaged and portrayed.

That Salman has taken Ramcharan Teja under his wings is no longer a secret. But here’s something that would serve as an eyeopener as to how much Salman is investing into his new protégé from Hyderabad.

Last week he invited Ramcharan and Zanjeer director Apoorva Lakhia to a very private dinner at his residence in Bandra to discuss ways to reinvent and contemporize Zanjeer. Salman whose father Salim Khan co-wrote the original Zanjeer, gave Ramcharan and Lakhia tips that are now being incorporated into the film.

Says a source close to the project, “Salman called Ramcharan and Apu home to discuss Zanjeer. He then began to astutely compare the new and old Zanjeer. The first suggestion that he made was to incorporate songs for Ramcharan’s character.

In the original Inspector Vijay Khanna as played by Amitabh Bachchan was too serious a man to sing and dance. Salman wants that to change. He said to Ramcharan, ‘You’re one of the best dancers in Indian cinema. It would be silly to not have you sing and dance. ”

More importantly Salman made many important suggestions about Priyanka Chopra’s character including how to bring in a much larger glamour quotient character.

Says a source, “Salman feels Priyanka’s character can be a lot more attractive. He has suggested changes in her clothes, styling, songs and choreography. Since Priyanka doesn’t start shooting for Zanjeer until October her character is being revamped as per Salman’s suggestions. ”

Clearly then, Salman has never taken such a keen interest in any young actor’s debut. Is it because Zanjeer was co-wrtten by his father?

“Partly that. But it’s more because of how protective he feels towards Ramcharan Teja. The young Telugu superstar and his father the iconic Chiranjeevi are very dear to Salman. Salman feels Ramcharan’s future in Bollywood is a personal resoponsibility, ” says a source very close to the neo-Zanjeer.

Ajay, Sanju and Salman to feature together in a track
Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will finally shoot a music track with Salman Khan this month-end

Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, who have had hectic schedules recently, will finally shoot for a song for their upcoming film on July 30.

Salman Khan also features in the track. Though it was announced that Sallu would be the stellar attraction in the track, there was speculation when it would happen as all three stars are extremely tied up with their commitments.

Says a source, “Sallu shot for a bit and had promised to give dates by July-end. As he has a film lined up in mid-August, he was keen to shoot for the track before he starts promotion for his film.”

The song will be shot at Film City and a special set is being erected with Ganesh Acharya as the choreographer.

Adds the source, “Coordinating everyone’s dates was a task but things have now worked out. This is the last bit of shoot remaining for the film as well.”

As Devgn was busy with the promotions of his recent release and Dutt was shooting a film, July end was the best time for these two stars too. As the source puts it, “They want it to be the highpoint of the film so every possible care is being taken to make it a lavish spectacle.”

Wonder why is Salman Khan staying away from Hollywood?

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

He was voted the seventh-best-looking man in the world and the best looking man in India by US's People magazine in 2004 -- but Salman Khan has maintained his distance from Hollywood, and says he has his reasons

The Bollywood star unleashed his funny side when asked about the reason at an event organised by Indo-American Chamber Of Commerce (IACC).

"All my friends who have gone to America, they don't even want to come back for a holiday, wonder why. I am an actor, those guys were the 'sensible' ones, educated - engineers, doctors, scientists. These guys went there and made a lot of money, respect, " he said.

"Me, I am giving Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, all these guys a chance. Otherwise...poor guys, " the 46-year-old said here in a humourous way. Salman also targeted Hollywood films.

"Amazing movies, they make anything look good. Like for example the names I took, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise. We just go on emotions and heart. We overdo anything, I mean guys like us also look really bad, " said Salman.

He wrapped up the response with his arch-rival, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's famous dialogue from "My Name Is Khan": "I mean my name is actually Khan and I actually am not a terrorist."

Besides Salman, actress Nargis Fakhri was also present at the event, where Tata Consultancy Services was formally honoured as the overall best Indian Company operating in the US at the 8th Indo American Corporate Excellence Awards.

'It's Not Fair'

`It`s Not Fair`
The road accident on Sunday night by a car allegedly owned by Arbaaz Khan and driven by Sohial Khan’s driver, which took an old woman’s life, has left the Khan family with a disturbing sense of déjà vu, and a deep sense of distress and indignation when no member of the Khan family was in the car when the accident occurred.

So says a discernibly distressed and upset Sohail Khan who claims media reports with the Khan name have deeply disturbed the family.

Says Sohail, “We are not an insensitive family. And it’s not a good feeling to be portrayed that way. The driver was alone in the car. It was the driver who caused the very unfortunate accident. He has taken the responsibility it. ”

Far from feeling relieved at being exonerated from guilt Sohail says the Khan family is deeply disturbed by the accident.

“We are shaken by the whole episode. Who wouldn’t be? Are we not human? To be called insensitive when only I know the trauma that my family is going through ever since the accident happened, is very unfair. ”

Sohail says the accident was seen by several eyewitnesses. “They’ve told the police exactly what happened. The driver was alone in the car. The poor lady lost her life. We are as troubled by this as any normal family would be.

Why are we being perceived as callous and indifferent? It is sad that such a tragic event has become one more occasion to make us brothers look like reckless adventurers. . Our names are being used just because our driver is not a celebrity. ”

Apparently the family is extremely concerned about the plight of the driver.

“It was an accident. A precious human life has been lost. At least give us time to come to terms with the enormity of the tragedy, ” says Sohail.

Sohail is specially upset with the way the Khan family’s role in the entire tragedy is being distorted.

Says Sohail, “Look at how our statements are minsterpreted. I said and I meant that it was sad to see homeless people sleeping on the roads covering themselves with plastic sheets to stop being drenched in the rain. Given this kind of dangerous situation, if God Forbid, a car loses control it can prove fatal. ”

Says Sohail, “We are sincerely concerned about the situation. What happened should not and must not happen to anyone. Let’s make the roads safer for the pedestrians and the drivers. ”

We are not paying any compensation to victim's family: Salman Khan

We are not paying any compensation to victim`s family: Salman Khan
The Khan family was not paying any compensation to the 70-year-old woman who was killed by a Land Cruiser owned by Arbaaz Khan as she had been disowned by her family, the filmmaker's brother and Bollywood star Salman Khan said Monday.

"The accident happened by mistake. I spoke to my driver and he said when he was driving, he saw something like a black polythene bag on the road, but it was the lady who was completely in black. I would request everyone not to sleep on the road," Salman told reporters at their Galaxy apartment home in Bandra here.

"We are not paying any compensation to the family members of the victim as we got to know that her family had disowned her," he added.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday near St. Andrew's Church when the vehicle was headed towards the home of the Khans at Bandstand.

The woman has been identified as Chandra Bala, police said. She was rushed to the Bhabha Hospital by a police constable and some autorickshaw drivers in the vicinity but died from her injuries.

Salman's sibling Sohail Khan said that he was "shocked" when he came to know about the accident.

"I was at home. I did not know what was happening. Only driver was there in the car. The car was coming home and they did not know who the family was," he told reporters.

Sohail also said that "the news has been hyped a lot".

"Instead of focusing on who was in the car, people should focus on the fact that a women died. I got to know about this incident after an hour. This accident happened by mistake," he added.

The car was being driven by Dhananjay Pimpale. A top police official supervising the investigation said Pimpale came and reported the accident case to the police station shortly afterwards.

"We have recorded his statement and also the statements of two eyewitnesses who were present at the scene of the accident. We shall record the statements of the vehicle owner (Arbaaz Khan) and Sohail Khan (who has been using the vehicle)," the official told media-persons.

He confirmed that nobody else was present in the vehicle and also the fact that Pimpale was not intoxicated at the time of the accident.

"However, we shall send his blood samples for analysis to further confirm this," the official added.

Pimpale was later presented before a magistrate here Monday afternoon.

After a brief hearing, Pimpale was remanded in police custody till July 9, but soon afterwards, he applied for and secured a bail on an amlount of Rs.10,000, his lawyer Zameer Khan told media persons

Meanwhile, Salim Khan - the father of Arbaaz, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and filmmaker Sohail Khan - has expressed regret over the death of the destitute woman.

"It was most unfortunate. The woman suddenly came in front of the vehicle and fell. The driver immediately applied the brakes and reported the matter to the police," Salim Khan told.

He claimed that the woman, apparently frail, was not "crushed" as claimed in some quarters, but fell near the vehicle.

Salim Khan castigated the media and said that instead of finding out the whereabouts of the poor woman and her family or survivors, the focus was more on his celebrity family -- whether they were inside the vehicle and who owned the vehicle.

He added that the vehicle belonged to Arbaaz but was being used temporarily by Sohail. No family member was present in the vehicle at the time of the accident, he said.

Allah Ka Vaasta, please support me to help free Sarabjit: Salman urges Pakistanis

Allah Ka Vaasta, please support me to help free Sarabjit: Salman urges Pakistanis
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has urged the people of Pakistan to help him in efforts to free Sarabjit Singh, the Indian who is on death row in the neighbouring country.

"Requesting the people of Pakistan to support me to help free Sarabjit, who has been in prison since 30 yrs. Please. Allah ka vasta (for god's sake)," Salman tweeted.

"Request the awam (people) of Pakistan, members of the press, Govt of Pakistan, President (Asif Ali Zardari) Zardari, a humble request. It would be the most amazing gesture to send Sarabjit back to his family after 30 years. Hope you support me like it's your own cause," he added.

Hours after reports emerged that Pakistan was to free Sarabjit, the officials clarified that another Indian prisoner named Surjeet Singh, who has been in jail for three decades, would be released instead. The change of stance created a stir across India.

The actor was upset after he saw Sarabjit's family in dispair.

"I saw a picture of Sarabjit's sister, it killed me. Felt real sad for her. Help me, help her," he tweeted further.

On Thursday, at the Wagah border in Punjab, 69-year-old Surjeet Singh who was released from the Pakistan prison was reunited with his family in an emotional homecoming.

External Affairs Minister S M Krishna said he hopes that Pakistan will seriously 'ponder and consider' and release death row convict Sarabjit Singh too.

"I am happy that Surjeet Singh is being released and I hope that Pakistan will also seriously ponder and consider and release Sarabjit Singh also," Krishna said.

In New Delhi on Thursday, Dalbir Kaur, the sister of Sarabjit Singh, demonstrated at Jantar Mantar and said Pakistan should release her brother.

Dalbir also met SM Krishna over the issue of his brothers' release from a Pakistan prison.

Initial reports of Sarabjit's release had triggered celebrations in his family in India but later the Pakistan authorities said it was Surjeet Singh and not Sarabjit Singh who would be released.

Claiming that his brother charged with terrorism and spying is 'innocent' , Dalbir said Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari should rethink his decision and release him.

Dalbir said she will continue to fight for Sarabjit's release from Pakistan prison.

Islamabad on Tuesday night clarified that it was Indian prisoner Surjeet Singh and not Sarabjit who would be released from its jail in Pakistan, hours after media reports circulated claiming Sarabjit's imminent release.

Pakistani human rights activist Ansar Burney told an Indian TV channel that the sudden change in the Presidential stance might be under the pressure of the mullahs.

Sarabjit Singh has been languishing in a Pakistani jail for over 20 years after a Pakistani anti-terrorist court awarded him the death sentence in 1991.

He had been convicted of involvement in a string of bombings in Punjab in 1990 that killed 14 people.

The developments came two months after Pakistani microbiologist Khalil Chishty, accused in a 1992 murder case, walked free from an Indian prison after being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court.

Bollywood packs its best punch with raw action

Posted by Unknown Kamis, 28 Juni 2012 0 komentar

Advanced technology can make actors fly in the air, jump down high-rises and do other dazzling, dangerous stunts. But it is the old Bollywood 'dhishoom, dhishoom' staple that really sets the viewer's adrenaline rushing - borne out by the success of "Rowdy Rathore", another raw action entertainer that has earned over Rs.105 crore.

"Dabangg", "Singham" and "Agneepath" had their fair share of raw action and all did brisk business, earning Rs.145 crore, Rs.139 crore and Rs.120 crore, respectively.

Salman Khan's "Wanted" and John Abraham's "Force" also fall in the same league of films with tough and strong male leads, who make villains count stars with their kicks and punches. End result? The viewers hooted, clapped, whistled and came back for more.

Clearly, hi-tech entertainers made with mega-budgets like underwater thriller "Blue" and sci-fi "Krrish" and "RA.One" have their place, but the masses, particularly those in the interiors, want raw, rugged action.

Agrees Bollywood's 'khiladi' Akshay Kumar, who returned to action with the Rs.45 crore-worth "Rowdy Rathore" after six years.

"I personally believe that people enjoy raw action more than technology. If you use too much of technology, it will bounce back. People are very smart and understand what is real and what is unreal," Akshay told.

"If you sit in single theatres and watch such films with the audience, you will hear people saying, 'Arre ye toh computer pe kiya hai (This is done on computer)'. You can't take your audiences for granted. So when I did my first action film 'Rowdy Rathore' after six years, I chose to do raw action. I believe in manpower and not technological power," he said.

The success of "Rowdy Rathore", which grossed over Rs.100 crore within two weeks of its release, ratifies his belief.

According to film critic Omar Qureshi, nothing works without a good story.

"Essentially, Bollywood is about songs, dance and drama. In between, our filmmakers were copying straight from Hollywood. They have a different style of filmmaking, which does not really connect with the rawness of our interiors," Qureshi told.

Does this mean that Bollywood is not ready for the slick action of films in the west?

"No! You have to detach yourself from the subject and then make a movie. You can have the best gadgets, you can shoot the movie underwater and you can shoot the movie on the moon... all you need is a good story," he said.

"Rowdy Rathore" co-producer Shabina Khan says action can be showcased in any form on the big screen, but it is of no use if it doesn't entertain the right way.

"People go to a theatre to be entertained. Today there are all sorts of action scenes - live action and special effects-created scenes. It's not true that live action entertains better," Khan told.

" 'Mission Impossible: 4' had hysterical action sequences, and it worked. Viewers can be entertained by just a sequence wherein one actor slaps another... it's just about the whole experience and how entertaining the experience is," she added.

"Dabangg 2", "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2" and "Shootout At Wadala" are amongst the upcoming films showing plenty of the tried and tested 'dhishoom' formula. And the makers are hoping that they will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Salim Khan returns to script writing for Salman and Sohail

Salim Khan returns to script writing for Salman and Sohail
The brilliant Salim-Javed duo gave to Hindi cinema some of its most important films in the 1970s and 80s before threy parted ways. Since then Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar have been individually active in various creative capacities. Saliam Saab, as he is widely known in the film industry, has always been there as a script consultant for various young filmmakers and writers.

Now for the first time since Patthar Ke Phool 21 years ago Salim Saab is being brought on officially to supervise the scripting of his son Salman Khan’s film. And the film is none other than Salim Saab’s younger son Sohail Khan dream directorial venture Sher Khan.

The film already has on board two other writers Rumi Jaffery and Dilip Shukla. But Salim Saab would be the pilot of the plot. He will be billed in the credit titles for his special creative contribution.

Says Sohail, “My father is the script doctor on the project. He’s guiding all of us. My other writers Dililp Shukla and Rumi look up to him as much as Salman and I. So there’s no clash of interest. We all are counting on him to make Sher Khan one of the most special films in Bhai’s career.

We’ve been working on the script for the last one year. And we’ve just locked it in ten days ago. I start shooting in October. However if Arbaaz Bhai’s Dabangg 2 needs extra time I’d willingly and gladly postpone Sher Khan. Arbaaz Bhai is directing for the first time.

And at the moment the entire family’s focus is on seeing Dabangg 2 to the finish. I can afford to wait. Thanks to my father’s contribution the screenplay of Sher Khan has turned out to be out of the world. ”

When one spoke to the softspoken, warm and articulate Salim Khan he said, “I am there in the scriptwriting process of Sher Khan expressly to point out their mistakes, not to breathe down their necks. I don’t want to take away the credit from whatever those kids are doing. ”

Continues Salim Saab, “I am a farmer by nature. I like to nurture talent as much as trees. You must have seen when saplings are planted, protection is placed around the saplings to keep them away from predators.

I am like that protection for these children who are doing Sher Khan, athough I’ve to admit they’re capable of looking after themselves. I don’t want to make them selfconscious by constantly questioning them.

They are capable of looking after the script. But since they’ve asked me to help them I presume they think I’m better informed and cleverer than them. ”

Salim Saab feels it’s time to pass on the legacy. “The only thing that I certainly have which my sons don’t have is experience. It’s that experience which I am lending them.

We’re friends working in the same team, plus there’s that regard they have for me. They don’t cross that line of decorum and I don’t demand anything from them. ”

Apparently in the past on some occasions when Salim Saab’s suggestion was not accepted by Salman and Sohail the films bombed.

Says the self-deprecating writer-father, “Jo maine seekha hai jo haasil kiya hai woh deke jaana hai. (Whatever I’ve learnt I have to pass on). It’s up to my children if they want to learn from my experiences or not. My advantage as a writer is that I’ve matured with the years. Stars get old, writers mature. So I guess I have a certain wisdom of experience that Sohail is using. ”
