Posted by Unknown Senin, 09 Juli 2012 0 komentar

Parineeti Chopra is reported to have been approached to play the lead in director Punit Malhotra's next venture, which has Imran Khan in the male lead. But producer Karan Johar says nothing decided yet.

"The article suggesting we have made an offer for the female main lead of our Imran-Punit film is untrue....we are yet to offer it to anyone, " Karan posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Malhotra's last flick "I Hate Luv Storys" starred Sonam Kapoor and Imran as the lead pair and he wanted to repeat the same cast for the love story.

It has been reported that Parineeti, who has signed a three-film deal with the Yash Raj Films, had been approached by Karan for the movie.

Revealed: Imran`s special skill that makes Avantika very happy
Actor Imran Khan is not quite the prankster that he looks like. In his spare time, he says he is often seen staring at some wall Calling himself lazy, Imran tells CS about his real sober nature:

My tranquil moments

I am not really a prankster. Pranks require a certain amount of involvement and energy which I don’t have. I am a very tranquil person. I put my energy only in things that call for it, like my work. Once my work is done, I go onto what I called the ‘screen saver mode’. I can sit and just stare at nothing in particular.

I am basically very classic in my taste. Even in my house, I don’t like too much colour. I like to keep it clean and neutral. Right now, I am doing up my house in just grey stone and white walls, wooden furniture and no garish colours.

Tuning in

Music plays a big part in an actor's life. Because it puts you in a certain mindset. So based on the film that I am doing, I change the kind of music that I am listening to.

And I watch a lot of movies and read as well. I read especially on shoots between shots, when there is a lot of time and there's nothing to do. I read anything from the thriller, fiction books to those that teach you skills; like a cooking, carpentry or a photography book.

The cook in me

I cook very well. I can cook anything. Avantika is very happy ofcourse. I cook anything from Indian dishes to pastas and pizzas. Recently, I learned how to kneed the pizza base dough. So I can make the base and the pizza sauce right from scratch.

Imran Khan was the first choice for Cocktail not Saif

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

Director Homi Adajania says Imran Khan was his first choice for romantic comedy "Cocktail", which has Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and model Diana Penty.

"Saif was not the first choice. Imran was supposed to do it but he was not sure if he wanted to do it at that point of a time," Adajania told.

Being produced by Saif's Illuminati Films, the film will come out July 13.

"As Saif is the producer, he was going through the scripts, he read it and loved it. So, it worked out pretty well and that is how he came on board," he said.

Adajania debuted as a director with dark film "Being Cyrus" and it had Saif in the lead role. Dimple Kapadia and Boman Irani too featured in it.

For "Cocktail" too the director has roped in Dimple-Boman to play prominent roles.

Explaining their presence in the cast, he said: "Dimple and Boman are also there in the film and it is not like they were in 'Being Cyrus' so are part of this film as well. It is not a matter of familiarity but using talented actors who fit the bill."

Delhi Belly 2 not on the cards

`Delhi Belly 2` not on the cards
Making a sequel to the successful adult comedy "Delhi Belly" is not on the radar of filmmaker Abhinay Deo now, but he says that he has three more films in hand.

" 'Delhi Belly 2' is not on the cards at the moment. The writer and I need to sit down and write it, if we feel we have material," Abhinay told.

"I'm doing three more movie projects and all three are in the writing stage. I'll talk more about that later," he said.

Abhinay's first directorial venture, "Game", did not do well. But his second, "Delhi Belly", was a runaway success.

A sought-after ad filmmaker, Abhinay won last month a Gold Lion award at the 59th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for his campaign "I Am Mumbai" for the Mumbai Mirror newspaper.

He became the first director from India to win the award, considered equal to an Oscar.

"It feels fantastic. I'm glad that I could do this," he said.

Ask him what he enjoys making most -- ads or films-- and he says: "I enjoy both. It is a great experience to do both and both have their own magic. Ad is my first love. I have always done commercials. Feature is something I like doing now.

"I think both (ads and films) have their own challenges. There are some ads, like for Mumbai Mirror, which have been incredibly challenging. It's like doing a production for a small feature," said Abhinay, who has directed commercials for Pepsi, Nike and Cadbury.

Son of actors Seema and Ramesh Deo who played the couple in the 1971 film "Anand", Abhinay started out as an adman.

Asked if there were any specification on how to form a base in filmmaking, he said: "There is no thumb rule. There is no recommendation from my side that it's better to get into ads first. But one thing I can say is that making ads disciplines you regarding time. It teaches you the value of time."

"Ads are 30-40 seconds long. So you need to be careful about every millisecond. Feature films kind of spoil you because it gives you an opportunity to play with time," he said.

On celebrities endorsing brands, he said: "That does work. There is no doubt about that."

He then added: "Sometimes, a celebrity overshadows a brand and sometimes a celebrity works effectively for a brand. So it depends on how the agency and client decide to use it."

After directing two movies, Abhinay wants to make an ad that does not look staged.

"In advertising, there is a certain type of staged feeling because at the end of the day, you are selling a brand. An ad looks like an ad. After doing a feature, my idea is to make an ad, which does not look like an ad. I want to make it look real. This is what is appreciated now," he said.

Emphasising on the role of a director in making ads, he said every director has "varying degrees of involvement".

"Because I have had a strong agency background, my involvement in scripting is a lot more," he said.
